On Jan. 8, 2023, our first SPECIAL ZOOM presentation of five to kick off 2023, WELSH FOOD STORIES, by the author Carwyn Graves, direct from Wales, was so good that a ZOOM recording has been made available to all for a limited time.
The author kept us spellbound as he took us along on what the Amazon.com book description called: A culinary travelogue across Wales.

A sunny, warm September afternoon found many members and friends of WSWNE sharing time together at Lost Acres Vineyard in Granby, CT.
MABINOGI WEBINAR SUCCESS
During the month of March, almost thirty people signed on to Zoom each Thursday to join the Welsh Society of Western New England in learning about the Four Branches of The Mabinogi from members John Bollard and Margaret Lloyd of Florence, Massachusetts. Each week our homework was to read one of the four branches.
WSWNE’s St. David’s Day Luncheon - back in person

On the afternoon of Saturday, 4 December, 2021, The Welsh Society of Western New England hosted its annual Christmas Celebration-on-Zoom. Page 6 January 2022 Although it was hoped we could all meet in person this year, once again, Zoom was deemed to be the safest option. The festivities however, did not suffer.
You may recall we had hoped to reschedule our major concert by the marvelous Cor y Penryn choir from Wales to near the date of NAFOW in 2022.
WSWNE Board Member Evan Williams, our primary contact with the choir, now reports that the choir will be unable to perform for us, or at NAFOW, in 2022, due to the continuing uncertainty of the pandemic situation, combined with the need to book their flight this month, or not at all.
Read the article by WSWNE President Susan Davies Sit about the success of her ZOOM-based Welsh genealogy and conversation meet-ups. They turned the lemon of a pandemic into the lemonade of a alternative with its own distinct advantages. These may become a permanent addition to our in-person offerings.
An invitation from the Welsh Government for us to attend a conference on the UN’s 2019 “Year of the Indigenous Languages” prompted three members of the WSWNE Board to travel to New York City in February, 2019. The conference was titled: Promoting Multilingual Societies: Prospectives from Wales, The Basque Country, Flanders and Quebec.
