Storrowton Tavern was, for the third year, the site of the Welsh Society of Western New England Christmas luncheon. This year’s program was TWELVE DAYS OF A WELSH CHRISTMAS.
The opening reception for WSWNE member Margaret Lloyd’s art exhibition was held on December 6, 2018 in the Burnett Gallery of the Jones Library in Amherst, MA. Margaret engraves and paints on specially prepared roofing slate, which is quarried either in Wales, New York, or Vermont.
Storrowton Tavern was, for the second year, the site of the Welsh Society of Western New England Christmas luncheon. Straford and Andrea Wild sang plygain carols and other seasonal songs.
WSWNE held its first annual Noson Lawen - in Welsh tradition, an informal evening of our members, friends, and families sharing poems, songs, and stories with one another. This one was scheduled to celebrate the birth date of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.
Our Annual Christmas Luncheon was held at historic Storrowton Tavern in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Jodee James presented a concert with songs of the winter solstice, Christmas, and New Year’s traditions in both Welsh and English.
Many WSWNE members drove to Boston in December to see the Christmas Revels, many of us for the first time. What a treat it was! The Revels at Christmastime are held at the Sanders Theatre at Harvard University, Boston.
A delightful afternoon was had by all as the Welsh Society of Western New England gathered at the Yankee Pedlar Restaurant in Holyoke, MA on December 5th for their annual Christmas luncheon.
