Welsh Choir Not Coming to U.S. in 2022
You may recall we had hoped to reschedule our major concert by the marvelous Cor y Penryn choir from Wales to near the date of NAFOW in 2022.
WSWNE Board Member Evan Williams, our primary contact with the choir, now reports that the choir will be unable to perform for us, or at NAFOW, in 2022, due to the continuing uncertainty of the pandemic situation, combined with the need to book their flight this month, or not at all.

On December 6, 2018, 3 Board members, plus member Don Sit who kindly drove us into NYC, attended a holiday cocktail party at the residence of the British Consul at the invitation of the Welsh Government. The British Consul, Anthony Phillipson, (who is also Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for North America) and his wife Julie greeted us warmly.

St. David's Day 2016
The Welsh Society of Western New England celebrated St. David’s Day 2016. Everyone enjoyed Welsh music, culture, the Welsh language and very importantly each other’s company. Member Leslie Spencer gave a wonderful presentation of “Wales - Land of Song: A look at the choral tradition from yesteryear to today.”

Six Nations Cup - The Game of Rugby in Wales
Six European nations of Wales, England, Scotland, Ireland, Italy and France have played in the annual competition called the “6 Nations Cup” since it was formed (previously as 4 teams in the Home Nations Cup from 1881) in 2000. Wales has won the 6 Nations Cup 26 times since then and I remember Wales being such a strong and winning team in the 70’s.
