WSWNE’s Christmas Luncheon
December 2 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
West Springfield, MA
December 2 (Saturday) – The Welsh Society of Western New England’s annual Christmas Holiday luncheon at the Storrowton Tavern, West Springfield, MA. Social hour at 11 am followed by a festive luncheon, complete with Christmas decorations and the popping of British Christmas crackers. Entertainment provided by Jodee James, “a singer-songwriter, accompanying herself on guitar, with acoustic roots in legends, folklore, and especially the traditional music of Wales – often tied together in poetic meanderings.” “With a passion for history and folklore since early childhood, Jodee eagerly shares this experience with others. It was her father proud of his heritage that suggested she sing Welsh folk songs. “That held for me a key”, she says, “for something unlocked inside me – suddenly I was able to combine my love for times passed with family stories and all the cherished mysteries of emotion, legend and tradition.” Shop our selection of Welsh Christmas gifts. Following the luncheon at about 2pm, you will have free admission to “ Yuletide” Storrowton’s annual winter holiday festival. All of Storrowton’s 18th and 19th century buildings are seasonally decorated – inside and out – and open for viewing. The Village is bursting with holiday delights such as musical performances, storytelling, old-fashioned craft demonstrations (blacksmithing, hearthside cooking, spinning, quilting, etc), ice sculpting, Sweet Shoppe, kids’ crafts, old-fashioned Santa, and much more. Holiday gifts and decorations, unique items and many collectible lines are available in our gift shops. Check it out here: Storrowtonvillage.com. WSWNE luncheon tickets in advance only (available Nov 1): $33 for guests, $31 for members available by RSVP for info to WelshWNE@gmail.com before November 2, 2017.
